Poles in Summer Olympic Games - Medals Count

Read about medal count in Winter Olympic Games for Poles, read also about 2004 Olympic Games is Athens. The performance measured as the efficiency, amount of medals per one participant, was the worst since 1952. Some newspapers write about it as a failure or even a catastrophy of Polish sport. Poles received only ten medals - 3 gold, 2 silver and 5 bronze. Four less than during Olympic Games in Sydney (2000) and seven less than in Atlanta games (1996).

Below is a table with the list of Polish medalists during the summer olympic games

(*) Polish team together with the other Eastern Europe Soviet block teams did not participate in Olympic Games in Los Angeles (1984) in a protest against the USA team which did not participate in the earlier Olympics in Moscow (1980) because of the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.
